Apply for an Artist ID…
All of the fields below are required. Certain fields, such as your email address and artist ID, are kept private, while others, such as your name and web site, are shown to other users. Please note that while your password is kept secret from other users, Happy Grackle administrators will see it, so please don’t use something “sensitive” such as your email password. (We’re honest, but it is still the best policy to never let other people see such things—not even us.)
Also, please note that you must be of at least the minimum age required in your region for using online forums such as this. This age might be 13, 17, 18, 21, or even something entirely other. Please do not apply for membership if it is prohibited.
Finally, please note that you do need to provide a web site address. In order to keep our sketchbook community from being overrun by random spammers, “sock puppet” accounts, and other such shady folk, we need to see that you at least have an online presence (ideally, but not necessarily, with some examples of art or other creative things). This can be a personal home page, a DA page, a web journal/blog, etc.; we just want to see assurance that you really exist and have a definite presence online. As a bonus, once you have posted a few images here, we will add a publically visible (and Google-indexed!) link to your home page in your user profile.
Once we have received your application, we will review it and contact you via email once it has been approved and activated. This will generally be within a day or two, unless we are out of town, at a convention, asleep, or otherwise busy. If you still haven’t heard from us after a week, please contact us, because it really shouldn’t take us that long, and something might have gone wrong.
Finally, please do not get anxious over the “application” process; we will not “reject” you unless there is a clear problem with your application (missing information, bogus web site, claiming to be 102 years old when your web site says you’re 15, etc.). The full rules for membership and participation are spelled out here.
Anyway, enough of that; here is the application. We look forward to sketching together! :)
